PDC Approved 3 star pole dancing instructor Eben Watford
Eben qualified as an instructor at Pole Place Horsham in 2021. She started pole in 2015 as "something to tick off the bucket list".
Eben never imagined that it would lead to so much especially when she could barely do a push up on her knees when she started.
Since starting pole, Eben's confidence in everything has been boosted. Confidence in social circles increased and it has enabled her to go for jobs she never would have otherwise. Her love for teaching, came from this new found confidence when she went for a job in training. Eben loves to help people meet their potential, in a way that is unique to them and at their own pace.
As her passion and experience for Pole grew, so did her passion and experience in teaching. Eben had always found her principle instructor Ruby Rose Jackson (Pole Place Glasgow and Horsham) to be inspiring and one day it clicked that, that was what she wanted to do. She wanted her two passions to combine and become a pole instructor. With support of instructors past and present, Eben worked hard to gain her Beginner Level Instructor Qualification, which she completed in December 2019. Immediately she signed up to her Intermediate Level Instructor qualification, which she completed in September 2020. Currently she is working towards her Advanced Level Instructor Qualification and hopes to complete it soon, although lockdown has taken its toll!
Nonetheless Eben continues to learn new things and enjoys exploring the aerial world with an interest in aerial hoop and sling, never having any dance classes apart from ballet when she was five, Eben has been working on her flow over the years, as well as her flexibility. It hasn't been easy, but she believes if you are determined to put the work in you can achieve anything. Her favourite quote being from Audrey Hepburn, "Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I'm Possible"
At home, Eben is a mum and has been with her partner for over 18 years. Her family are unbelievably supportive and she is so thankful for that. Eben feels lucky to be considered part of a second family, and that is her pole family. The girls in her class on a Wednesday, are again so supportive. Nicknamed "papwednesdays" as progression pics are an extremely
important aspect of their group, and so is a laugh and a giggle.
Eben is extremely excited to be joining the Pole Place Horsham Instructor team, with Kirsty Lian Saunders, and Sandy Whitby, she is looking forward to helping others find their way on their pole journey, and hopes she can be an inspiration to others one day!
