PDC Approved 3 star pole dancing instructor Helen Eastwood.
My name is Helen Eastwood. From an early age my passion to be a dancer was very strong. I started dance classes at 11 years old and had to work very hard to achieve my Grades, I wasn’t a natural mover nor was I flexible like my fellow class friends.
Eventually the hard work and dedication paid off. By the time I was 18 years old my journey as a professional dancer started. I performed in many shows in the UK and Spain before coming to Tenerife in 1989.
After finishing several contracts, I decided to take the next step and produce my own Dance Shows making the costumes, choreography, managing the expanding group of dancers, performing and being a mother of 2 small children was all part of my daily life.
I was living my dream.
"Pole fitness/dance is now my passion, not only to achieve and grow in every aspect of pole dance for myself but also for my students, seeing them getting stronger with each class, and hearing their “screams” of joy when they achieve a move or hold for the first time gives me great pleasure."
At the age of 42, I decided to hang up my dance shoes. I had had a long happy successful career and it was time for a change. However I still needed to keep myself active and tried various classes and joined a gym. I enjoyed keeping fit but nothing was motivating me enough. Then I tried a pole class at Polercise Tenerife and I was hooked (literally).
I have been Pole Dancing 5 years now. Ive taken in part Master Classes with Saulo Sarmiento, World Pole Art Champion and Spanish Champion, with Vane Lunatica, who I worked with some years ago (pre-pole days) and also with David Skowronek, Mr Pole Fitness.
While in the UK I Like to expand my class experiences where possible including PoleFit Studio, Stoke on Trent, FPS Fitness/Pole Studio Birmingham and CircusMASH Birmingham, Trapeze and Silks.
I took part in the Guiness World Records in 2014 along with 5 others from Polercise and raised money for various charities. I was proud to raise 500€ for Marie Curie myself. We had great fun in breaking the existing record and bringing pole dancing together all over the world.

Canarian TV have visited Polercise Tenerife studio several times, featuring Pole Dance and its benefits.
They always take extra interested in me as a mature Poler of 50 years old with 2 grown up children and being grandmother.
My Daughter, Natalia who is 21 years old has been Pole Dancing for 2 years. She is a natural poler after many years of dance, gymnastic and trampolining training. We spent many hours together poling and gives us great Mother / Daughter time together. Shes advancing rapidly with a “Mother” as a personal Pole Trainer.
After many years of Teaching and being involved in Dance, it was natural for me to help teaching in the classes. As time passed and I advanced I realized that I loved to teach and pass on my passion. I've been teaching since 2013 at the Polercise Tenerife Studio and at Activa Fitness and Pole Studio Tenerife all levels from Beginners to Advanced.
Many of our students are PDC members and have achieved various grades, while several are working towards grades at the moment.
