PDC Approved 3 star pole dancing instructor Elizabeth Markham

Elizabeth Markham Pole Dancing-InstructorElizabeth Markham is the manager and principal instructor at Blush Dance Sheffield where she teaches students pole fitness and aerial hoop. Elizabeth has been teaching since I started my business in January 2013.

Elizabeth has an extensive background in dance and fitness having danced since the age of 3, but her love for pole and aerial fitness started in 2012 when she started pole and was given her own franchise from Bex Campey (Owner of Blush Dance). Since then Elizabeth has taught and prepared my students for various competitions, auditions and company showcases. Elizabeth says "This, as I'm sure many of you will agree, makes me very proud!"

Let's find out more about Elizabeth and her pole journey;

"I was first introduced to pole dancing by a family friend who said I should give it a go and go to some of her Elizabeth Markham Pole and Aerialclasses she ran in Manchester. So I did! I had always danced and used to compete regionally in Gymnastics so I put the two together on a pole and it was a match made in heaven! I was offered a franchise opportunity in Sheffield by Becky Campey at Blush dance Stockport and this was where my pole teaching began.

Before I taught pole dancing, I worked as a freelance dance practitioner in schools, teaching children extra curricular dance and dance projects. I have also owned my own local dance school since graduating from university in 2011.

My favourite pole move has to be all the different handstand variations and my nemesis move has to be Iron X (I bet this is a lot of peoples!) and as for most inspiring pole dancers, Sarah Scott & Bendy Kate. Ultimate favourites, but my true inspiration obviously comes from the lady that taught me all I know and offered me this incredible franchise opportunity, Becky Campey.

Aside from pole I am an Aerial Hoop performer and instructor and I am a physique/bikini competitor so the gym is a huge hobby.

Preferred Pole? - Static 45mm in bare feet!

My plans for the future are to take over Sheffield with pole fitness, aerial hoop, personal training and fitness classes! I hope to own my own gym and studio one day so I can do my personal training and teaching pole dance and aerial hoop classes all under one roof.

Additional fitness background:
"In 2011 I graduated with a Sports Science for Performance Coaching degree and my love for fitness and coaching further continued when I qualified as a Personal Trainer. I have just recently competed in my second fitness model and physique competition (Miss Galaxy Universe), in which I placed 5th overall out of 100 girls . In November 2014 I placed first in the showgirl category of the competition, and was asked to return to perform as a guest in May 2015.

I am excited about my future within the pole and aerial fitness industry and I am delighted to have been accepted as a PDC member."
